Why Give?

OUR STORY:
At GraceUMCLA, we give because it is a demonstration of our commitment to love God as God has demonstrated love for us since creation. Also, our giving is a reflection of our partnership with God to create the beloved community. Ministry requires financial resources and this is where everyone can participate.

Member tithes and offeringsGIVING TO GRACE UMCLA: If you are a member of GraceUMCLA, we encourage you to create an online offering account. Click on the “Grace 2 U” button to start the process. Once you have an account, you may systematically donate your tithes and offering online, especially when you are on vacation or otherwise away from church. In addition, you will be able to keep an accurate record of your financial giving.

CONSIDER THIS:

Let our giving be a reflection of our gratitude for all that God has done through and with us. As it is written in the Old Testament: “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of host; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” – Malachi 3:10

Giving Out of Gratitude . . .
Please Give Today

Giving is an essential aspect of Christian discipleship. We give in response to the greatest gift of Jesus Christ to the world and the blessings that we receive from God each day. The “tithe” is a Biblical principle of giving 10% of our financial resources to undergird the ministry of the church.  Tithing is a demonstration of our commitment to God and building God’s kingdom on earth.

Tithing requires financial discipline and a re-ordering of priorities in our life. Our Stewardship Committee offers educational opportunities to teach us a way of life that includes the tithe and sacrificial giving (which is giving above and beyond our regular giving). Tithes and offerings are accepted during each worship celebration. In addition, you may give to Grace UMCLA online whether you are a member or friend of the congregation.

In addition to tithing financial resources, Christians are called to tithe their time and talent. That means, that we are called to give 10% of our time and 10% of our God-given talent to the church and the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. You may donate your time and talent through any of the ministries of Grace UMCLA.
