Vacation Bible School at Grace UMCLA Vacation Bible School is a week-long Bible Study program for all ages. Traditionally, the program begins with an opening song, prayer and light supper followed by classroom instruction. Classes for children and youth include Bible stories, games and activities. Classes for adults and seniors vary from arts and crafts to Bible Study. This year's theme was "I've Got Talent." Adults explored how to combine their faith in their work outside of the church setting.
Choirs at Grace UMCLA Music is an essential tool for expression of Christian faith for all ages. At Grace UMCLA, music is central to our worship celebrations. Our music ministry features the following groups: a children's choir (known as Grace Notes), a Praise Team that opens worship each Sunday, Voices of Grace that sings traditional and contemporary gospel, Chancel Choir that focuses on anthems and spirituals, and the Men's Choir (known as The Chordsmen). Valentine Sunday is a special for everyone at Grace UMCLA. The Marriage Ministry at Grace UMCLA sponsors a gala event each year on the Sunday closest to Valentine's Day. First, during our worship celebrations at 7:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., all married couples stand at the chancel area and Rev. Hill leads a vow renewal ceremony. Rev. Yoshika Kitanani, gospel/jazz singer, who studied with the Voices of Grace Choir director, Melida Smith, sang with the Voices of Grace Choir at Grace UMCLA. She was recognized during worship on her last Sunday at Grace UMCLA before returning to her native Japan. Grace UMCLA is a destination for visitors as a spiritual home away from home. College students, transplants from other regions of the U.S., and international visitors have found our congregation to be warm, friendly and welcoming. Our
